Since the Covid19 pandemic, I have been pushed into the world of technology education faster than I ever imagined! The words that come to mind are frazzled, overwhelmed, overworked, equity, band width, pressure, and flexibilty. Although I have observed benefits of technology in education there has been a mountain of challenges. There seems to be lack of prior knowledge and fear of the unknown. In my opinion, many adults resist converting their lesson plans into online learning opportunities. This is a risk that pushes some far away from their comfort zone. The reality is that as educators we need training. Research on the effectiveness of technology-enabled programs and resources is still limited, and we should build capacity to generate evidence of individual-, program-, and community-level outcomes need trial and error as they reinvent their methods of presenting learning material. As an educator I strive to find qaulity resources that help deliver qaulity lessons. My favorite place to visit when I am unsure about the use of technology with students is “Common Sense Media”.
